Our client, a gym attendant who was blind in his left eye, was crossing an intersection when he was struck by a city of Chicago garbage truck. Due to his disability, he did not see the garbage truck prior to impact. At trial, our experts testified on how the impact occurred based on where our client was located in the street and where his blood was found on the truck, which was viewed by jurors after opening statements. The jurors received instruction regarding the city's failure to timely produce during discovery a person who was a passenger in the truck. The jury returned a verdict of more than $850,000 for our client's medical expenses, pain and suffering, and past and future disability.
