Three people in Illinois have sadly lost their lives in a tragic car crash. The accident involved a single motor vehicle and took place in the early morning hours on a recent Wednesday. Sometimes, these types of car accidents happen as a result of negligent driving, which is grounds for litigation.

The recent Illinois car accident took place at around 1:22 a.m. along Illinois 33. Police said that a woman, 21, was driving a car along the interstate but had trouble with negotiating a curve. As a result, the woman reportedly left the street and hit a pole. Her car then came to a stop in a line of trees.

Two passengers in the back seat were ejected from the car and ended up dying as a result of the crash. They were ages 20 and 13. The driver also passed away in the collision. Meanwhile, the front-seat passenger, 23, was taken to a medical center with injuries that were deemed not to be life threatening.

The surviving loved ones of the two backseat passengers may choose to file wrongful death claims, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained in the crash. Likewise, the front-seat passenger may opt to file a personal injury claim, seeking damages. Even though the driver died in the collision, the plaintiffs may still sue her estate as well as anyone else with an ownership interest in the car she was driving when the crash happened. Successfully litigated claims may result in damages to cover hospital bills, funeral expenses and other losses tied to these types of car accidents in Illinois.
