The March 10, 2014, edition of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin provided information on a recently settled $17 million case involving a suburban man who suffered brain damage caused by complications from bacterial endocarditis. Wise Law represented the man’s mother and his interests. The case settled on Dec. 26, 2013, during a pretrial hearing before Cook County Circuit Judge James P. McCarthy. The judge approved the settlement and dismissed the case on Feb. 6, 2014, contingent upon the approval of University of Chicago officials. The approval occurred the next day.
