The April 17, 2014, edition of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin described a $10 million settlement reached by Wise Law that resulted from a medical malpractice suit filed by a Freeport, Illinois, man who became a quadriplegic after suffering a stroke. It is the highest verdict or settlement reported to date in Stephenson County, which is in northwestern Illinois. The settlement was approved in mid-April.
