A young boy suffers from seizures and requires extensive speech and occupational therapy as a result of a delay in diagnosis of his mother's pre-eclampsia until after her blood pressure had risen to dangerous levels. The mother experienced seizures and placental abruption, leading to a lack of oxygen to the child's brain and subsequent brain damage.
