The crash of United Airlines Flight 232 was one of the most highly publicized in commercial aviation history. The scheduled flight from Denver to Chicago crash- landed in Sioux City, Iowa, after the DC-10 airliner suffered catastrophic failure of its tail-mounted engine, creating a complete hydraulic failure that led to the loss of all flight controls. Although 180 people survived the crash, largely due to the efforts of the flight crew, more than 100 people died from impact injury and smoke inhalation in the post-crash fire. Our lawyer represented the family of one such fatality, an Iowa businessman, and secured a substantial settlement that helped provide for their future economic security.
