We represented the family of a 58-year-old crane operator who was killed in an accident when the top part of a crane collapsed on his cab as he worked at the CSX Corp. rail yard in Bedford Park, Illinois. On behalf of his family, we filed a workers' compensation lawsuit against his employer and other companies involved in the accident and settled the case in Cook County Circuit Court. Central Intermodal, which handled rail yard maintenance, agreed to pay the biggest part of the settlement, while rail carrier CSX and the crane designer MI-Jack were also involved in the settlement. Although the settlement involved no admission of guilt, it provided needed financial support for the family.
