Largest reported personal injury settlement of a contested liability case in Illinois history
CHICAGO (February 15, 2021) – Wise Law Offices LLC and Romanucci & Blandin, LLC together announce a $140 million settlement of a lawsuit involving a workplace injury in the Chicago area in 2016. The settlement was mediated by the Honorable William E. Gomolinski of ADR Systems. Judge Gomolinski, who has had a successful 11-year career on the bench and 21 years as an attorney, is highly regarded for his ability to resolve complex cases.
This settlement includes $90 million to a client of Wise Law who survived, but suffered life-changing injuries and $50 million to the wife of a worker who died, represented by Romanucci & Blandin. The case was complex as the multiple Defendants were represented by several different law firms.
